Arrived in Copenhagen

Charles arrived on April 24th and rented an apartment so he could work on boat preparation before she was launched this Spring. Much to be done - re-plumb the aft head, engine tweaks, reverse winterizing, making a passarel, cleaning up everything from the last trip and putting on the sails.  Some how repeated overnights turn everything into an untidy mess.

Sue arrived on May 9th and the boat was presentable enough to stay on board.  Reorganization was balanced with trips to Ikea for containers, rugs, pillows, etc. Gregers and Lene graciously had us over for dinner one night.

We visited the maritime museum in Roskilde where there is a fabulous exhibit of 1000 year old viking ships and the workshop where they build faithfully reproduced copies of the originals.  The marina we are in is under major reconstruction and there is noise and dust everywhere.

We will be moving on on Monday to Elsinore home of Macbeth's castle.  From there we will cross to the Jutland Peninsular and then on to the Limfjord, and inland series of lakes and waterways that will take us to the North Sea coast.  From there we will cross to Inverness when the weather permits.

  1. Hi, Sue and Charles. I will be following your blog faithfully again. We are back in FL awaiting the arrival of a new autopilot. The old one finally gave up the ghost completely. Charles, you might also want to know that the engine problem that showed up outside of St. Augustine turned out to be a faulty fuel lift pump. Brad installed and electric one in Nassau.
I would wish you fair winds and following seas, except following seas aren't that great, so just happy travels. Keep posting!
